The horrors of war should never be forgotten. As for those brave people who died in the war that was supposed to end all wars, they can rest in peace now.
Knowing that their grandchildren live and fight together, as brothers and sisters.

there’s a school of thought (which I tend to agree with) that WWI and WWII aren’t really separate wars, just a long conflict with a 20 year ceasefire between them.

I think it is. The Germans and French get familiarized with several types of assault rifles, to be better prepared for unexpected situations and operations.

It’s interesting to contemplate what happens without the Great War. Russia, maybe, doesn’t fall under the control of the reds. Germany certainly doesn’t fall under the control of Hitler.
